Laptop CPU into a Desktop PC



Does a Intel P4-Mobile fit, and work in a standard P4 Desktop motherboard?



Well, I happened to have a 1.8 P4-m CPU lying about, and I didnt know if it worked. I didnt really fancy taking a laptop to bits just to test it, so I though I would try it in the PC.

Although the CPU fits straight into the socket on the motherboard, the heatsink however wouldnt quite reach it since the mobile CPUs are a bit smaller in thickness.

I decided that I could probably fill the gap with tinfoil. So I did!
